Is there any character in your book that you feel needs to mature or develope in some form? Discuss how they act now and how the changes will afffect them
I feel that Mark needs to Mature more in certain areas of his personality. At some point in his life he has to realize that as he get older he will start running out of time to keep switching the things he wants to do with his life. As he gets older he has to find something that works and stick to it. Mark in a way is like an child who is in a candy store, he doesn't know what he really wants. Mark need to mature in order to take control of his life and create a stable environment for his self, or he will never be satisfied with what he does.
I dont think Mark in "Lost in Place" should mature early. His still a young boy trying to find out his path in life. Growing up to fast will kill his childhood and will reveal the harsh realities of the real world.
But also in the book its shown that when he's fourteen he still doent really have a sence of staying in one spot. !4 years old in high school means he need to learn how to be stable, and create an organized enviorment at well. It's completly fine for him to be intrested in multiple things but at the same time he has to learn that he needs stability because he is becoming a young adult.
But entering high school is when you are supposed to develop those skills. Being an high school student your mind is exspected to be developed and be able to keep a focuse on any subject and not carry yourself or allow yourself to be disorganized.
In my book “they poured fire on us from the sky” there is one character that I feel needs to mature in many ways. That character is Peter. Peter is constantly crying and dwelling on the past, doing so fills him with sadness and this shuts him down making him a shell of man. He needs to come to the realization that everything he does affects him drastically. He needs to understand that his family and home are burned, beaten and destroyed. Although that is sad there is nothing he can do about it now and needs to take care of himself. If he has a reality check and changes his ways I believe it would heighten his chance of survival and give him a better attitude as well.
Earlier in the book They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky, the character Peter cries all the time and is impossible to keep around while the other boys are trying to survive. They end up leaving him behind because they realize that if they try to take him with them, he will surly die. He needed to keep his cool for himself and for his family that he was with. But he wasn't getting any better. So they left him behind. Eventually they met up with him later. He was a new man. Tall and strong.
The whole book, Take the cannoli, is about the author Sarah Vowell therefor she is the main character. The book is about Sarah’s life and how she has grown into an adult. The book starts off telling stories of Sarah as a child and tells significant events in her life as she gets older. All of these events are a learning process that make her mature into the woman she is today. Sarah never really did anything daring but she learned from all of it.
The focus in Take the Cannoli is mainly Sarah Vowell. There are times in the book where Sarah can be more mature in her approach to situations she has at times personally. I don’t think by joining a goth camp will make it less obvious that she looks and sounds extremely younger than she actually is. Sarah is at times the most mature in certain situations she faces with her family. In them wanting her to be outgoing in ways other than poetry and sometimes music, she still manages to be mature in who she is to know that there is still a life while being that type of person.
In the book “They Poured Fire On Us From The Sky” one character I feel needs to grow up is Peter. He is always crying like he’s the only kid going through what he’s going through. Even when the other kids are having fun, he just sits around. One night when Benson and Benjamin escape from the camp, they left Peter behind because they knew he was going to be to scared. If he would just man up a little bit he could have escaped with them. He would even just be happier in general instead of being sad all the time.
There aren’t any characters in They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky that I feel need to mature more, considering they lived through an experience at such a young age that caused them to grow up, whether they were ready to or not. Benson, for example, refuses to show any signs of pain or sadness early on in order to set a good mindset for the younger children around him. I know at eighteen years old I could not simply just leave my family and everyone else behind without knowing their whereabouts, yet these small kids did, while walking for months on end with very limited food or water. All of them showed a lot of bravery and courage throughout the book, which helped lead them to a better life.
In take Take the Cannoli, Sarah Vowell seems like someone very mature for her age as a young person and makes thoughful concious decisions throughout the book. though she ran into a small section of her life that she questioned who and what she was, she was able to pull herself together and go on about her life as a young woman.
Well Mark from the book “Lost in Place” was immature in the beginning of the book. But in the long run after Mark started maturing up. Mark would like taking responsibility by not taking all of his time in his basement. He improved by taking kung-Fu classes and started taking school more serious. He had a chance to teach a classroom about the Chinese culture cause his teacher saw him so interested in that type of topic. He was mature enough to quit that bogus ass kung-Fu class that he was getting abused in. He started enjoying life to the fullest and he gets cool points for asking a girl on a date. So Mark did developed maturity in some form.
I feel that Benson need to mature more in certain areas. He is the youngest out of the Lost Boys and didn't understand about life. As Benson got older he have realized that life is tough, because during his journey without parents he battle through a lot of situation that he had experience. How was your childhood life? Tough? Normal? Good? Give some examples.
In 'They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky'Peter bothered me! He cried all the time over everything. He was young, however life isnt getting any better. I mean everyone has there own way of dealing with things but it being so much chaos lately they can't afford tears. All it takes is for one cry and it can put the entire group in jeopardy. He also needs to be considerate of his peers. Benson said that sometimes kids would see him cry and it'd make them cry. Like nick says I think a reality check is what canmature him. He doesn't need to hear it from Benson or ALpheo but himself and pull it together.
